Let's talk about Sleep.
You know that you don't function well on little sleep; that you turn into a mean troll with crappy sleep for a week. But did you know how important it really is to get good sleep?
You've lost the childhood bedtime routine and gained the stress.
Stress.
You need to recover from it. What is the number 1 way to recover from it, other than nutrition?
Sleep.
While you are sleeping you body is recovering, healing and repairing.
The better sleep you get, the better repairing and recovery.
So how do you get better sleep?
Well, first you need to get back to that childhood bedtime routine.
Unfortunately, if you were one of those kids that didn't have one then you may have it a little harder. No worries! The internet is here to help.
1. No falling asleep to a screen. That means no scrolling, and no endless Netflix or YouTube till you doze off.
2. Do relaxing self-care stuff. Cup of tea, art, journalling, reading a book, taking a bath.
(I know you are feeling relaxed just reading those things, so do them)
3. Don't eat right before bed. Why? Because instead of your body using valuable time repairing you and restoring your beauty it then has to try to digest food while you are just laying there.
(Eat, take a walk, then do your relaxing stuff)
4. Make sure the room is dark, cool and quiet. Like a cave. If you need assistance there are some great ambient sounds out there that can help, but set a timer for it to go off or it could wake you up.
(Try Sonic Aid - deep sleep)
