Nutrition for Healthy Skin & Hair

Image
Who doesn't want great skin & a head full of healthy hair!? Many of us search for the answer to healthy skin and hair in the beauty and cosmetics isle, department stores or cosmetic department to purchase expensive products that stop work if they stop using. Like most things in life, we are seeking outside of ourselves for an answer when the answer is within (my yoga & buddha peeps know what I am talking about). But the same rings true for your skin. Your skin and scalp are nourished from deep within and can be a great source of knowledge of our true health; vitamin deficiencies, dehydration and declining health. Glowing skin and thick hair typically represent youth, beauty, desirability, and fertility = signs of health. We are naturally attracted to these qualities because in animal lingo that equals better reproduction. Am I saying for us ladies to run out and start buying pre-natal vitamins? Sort of. I want you to look at what are the key vitamins in pre...

Favorite Inpirational Books

Image
Hey guys! So, one of my goals in 2017 was to read more. And, not only to read more, but to read more books that were beneficial and assisted me in my personal growth and self improvement journey. So, I have been focusing on just that. I have been focusing on books that provide inspiration, motivation, and growth in my life. While I do love me some fiction, I wanted to make sure I was reading non-fictional books that could benefit my life in a positive way. Please know that these are affiliate links and I do recieve a commision if you make a purchase. I would not however, promote a product if I did not believe it was great! So let’s get to it! Here are my top ten favorite inspirational book...

Water Consumption Therapy

Image
Water Consumption Therapy   Generally we are told to drink 8 glasses of water a day, which is normally 6-8oz of water per cup.   8oz x 8 = 64 oz per day   But actually, health science shows that although that is a great general number to recommend, we actually need half our weight in oz each day. That we as a culture greatly underestimate the powerful benefits of water.   165 lb human/ 2 = 82.5 oz   And that doesn't include the extra water that would need to be consumed for those who are active and/or trying to loose weight. Add an extra 8oz for each hour of exercise and an extra 8oz for every 5lbs wanted to loose.   Whew! That is a lot of water! How can we drink that much in one day!?   Did you know that there are more opportune times to consume water too!?   Morning Before each meal/snack Last thing to consume in evening So, let's say we need to consume 12 glasses of water per day. ...

The Miracle Drink.

Yep. I am not exaggerating. This stuff is so amazing they should bottle it and sell it for $5 a bottle, it should be selling off the shelves! Best of all it doesn't even have a taste so no one can not like it. And yet when you are beyond thirsty it is the best tasting thing ever. " So many of us live in a constant state of searching for health. We feel overwhelmingly tired and achy. We have brain fog and blotchy skin. We have weight issues. We shell out big cash for supplements and shakes and gyms. All to little (or no) benefit. We feel so crappy (for lack of a better word) that it’s almost impossible for us to believe that relief could be easy." Why are we ignoring water? This is speculation here, but I think we overlook water for a number of reasons: We THINK we are getting enough – but we don’t really know what enough is. (That’s probably our biggest mistake. None of us are ignoring our health on purpose, right?) We underestimate the benefits ...
