Becoming a Morning Riser & Exerciser.
I always admired those early risers, people that woke up early and accomplished something great before everyone else started their day; Meditation, Running, Hitting the Gym or Yoga. Part of me imagined it as a beautiful thing...the quiet, undisturbed "me time" but the other part of me, the 5am me did not agree.
Fast Forward to today...I rise every weekday morning and not only exercise at 6:00am, I teach.
Now, I cherish those mornings, they are magical - rising with the sun.
So how did I change from struggling to wake at 8:30am to waking at 5:00am?

2 things I tried:
- Committing to a group, putting money on something at least 2 days a week.
- And getting up early 20 minutes early to foam roll or meditate on the other 3 days.
Tips:
- If you can not hold yourself accountable, allow someone else to: grab a buddy.
- Joining a group fitness class that you pay in advance - it will motivate you.
- Create a log and pick a fun reward.
As a parent, this morning time is precious and allows me sanity - to create a calm before the hecktic day begins. However, even if you are not, allowing yourself time to set your tone for your day will have a huge impact on how you interact with others, your productivity and give you a strong since of accomplishment.
Setting a goal, such as becoming a morning person, and working toward it will help motivate you to reach other goals in your life. Such as; developing a strong morning routine carries over into the need for a strong bedtime routine. Routines help establish consistancy which can reach into other part of your day (i.e. other goals, diet, ect).
So, start researching early morning classes. I suggest starting gently, like Yoga or Pilates but maybe need more intensity like a bootcamp or cycling class. Pick what works for you, commit to it and work toward becoming the best version of you.
